Project SKYBOUND is a South African investment initiative by Mark Capital Pty Ltd and Deal Leader Group in partnership with Leading Global OEMs in Aerospace and Defense.

Mark Capital Pty Ltd (MC) has successfully negotiated and confirmed an investment of €600m for Project SKYBOUND with global aerospace project partners to implement an Aerospace Village comprising of 3 pillars (Aerospace, Technology & Accommodation) in South Africa:
AEROSPACE
a) Aerospace Integrated Service Centre (AIC) – 3 200 m2,
b) Flight Test Centre and Showroom – 11 400 m2,
c) Composite Parts Manufacture Facility – 14 750 m2
d) Electro-Optical Sight Facility (Aircraft Gimbal) – 1 200 m2
e) MD Helicopters Facility – 10 000 m2,
f) UAV (Drone) IP and Manufacturing (inside Composite Facility

Aerospace Integrated Service Centre (AIC)
The Acquisition of Intellectual Property and Model acquisition of an Aerospace Integration Centre and incorporating the:

Denel Group
Rooivalk Combat helicopter is positioned for a full upgrade. Denel and ASELSAN have already ring-fenced $30m for the prototype to be upgraded in this AIC.

Global Partners
Global Partners in the AIC is to fit out unmodified aircraft with engineering and technology for sensors, avionics, electro-optic sights, mission computers and various other avionic components required.

Solution Centre
A two-year solution center program will ensure the transfer of skills from our Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) professionals to Mark Capital while retaining a Customer/Partner based relationship with the OEMs. Mark Capital is associated with this project as a Marketing Alliance Partner (MAP) allowing Mark Capital to be instrumental in the development of future Integration Centers across the globe.

The goal is to increase the cyber resilience of organizations against cyber-attacks while generating a reasonable profit for the company to keep investing in the domain and become a major player in the cyber security industry.

Two-Way Radio Transfer of Technology & Production
Within this industry, Mark Capital has agreed to purchase the Intellectual Property rights to manufacture Two Way Radios to supply the security and defense industries locally and internationally from ASELSAN.
The total spend on two-way radio procurement across different sectors in South Africa alone is estimated to be more than R1.6 billion per annum (DTI report)

SAPS Procurement
“It is estimated that more than 200 000 two-way radios are used by the South African Police Service (“SAPS). The national procurement of two-way radios is estimated to be almost 300 000 as of 6 years ago’ (Department of Trade and Industry, two-way radio terminals designation in terms of the PPPFA, Advanced Manufacturing Chief Directorate, ICT Services, 2015, p.6).

Institute of Technology – Administration and Office Block
The administration block will house the offices of the Aerospace village consisting of office space, visitor facilities, boardrooms, recreation facilities and a crèche/ preschool
The institution will be a feeder program working in collaboration with local and international African Universities to ensure students have a practical-based learning center to hone their respective skills in the Aerospace environment.
The proposed Institution will be based at the Aerospace Centre consisting of Lectures and classrooms fitted for the purpose. The proposed building is 1000 square meters and can accommodate 250 students.
Technology Detail
Hotel - 100 Bed
The proposed hotel will be located ideally at the Aerospace proximity of 45000 square meters.
It will be a standard-rated 4-star facility and primarily be used to accommodate the delegates and client base of the aerospace village. The hotel construction is a value- added feature of the Aerospace business that will offer out-of-town and international visitors’ convenience and easy access to the Aerospace Centre.
The hotel should create employment for 250 persons directly and a further 150 indirect employment opportunities.
The proposed facility will be operated and managed by an accredited IATA company that can offer end-to-end accommodation packages to visitors.

Housing Development Units 500
New residential units are proposed as a value offering to be sold to the employees of the facilities.
The units are standard two and three-bedroom houses with basic amenities and in the gap market range. Houses will be sold to employees on an off-plan model ensuring at least 80% of sales before investment and construction. The site will be established as a township with the local municipality. The proposal is to build 500 units with amenities, establishing a suburb with schools, shopping facilities and places of worship. The entire project will be under the curation of property development experts.

Project SKYBOUND team of Aerospace Engineers from Aselsan, Denel Group, MD Helicopters, and Aerospace Consultants are contracted to advise and lead the design team to achieve a world-class facility.
These projects undertaken by MC and partners are designed to change the economic landscape of the country and the continent and will contribute immensely to the upgrade of the vicinity of build and the livelihood of the local citizens.
In consideration that all environmental and zoning factors are met with all protocols followed as per the local municipality requirements, there is much anticipation that within the next two years, the area will see substantial growth in economic recovery in the various subsectors as per the project plan.
